Connected Places Catapult, acting as a delivery partner of the Hydrogen Innovation Initiative (HII), is inviting bids for near‑term hydrogen demonstration projects. Successful projects can receive up to £100,000 (including VAT) to help deliver real‑world demonstration activity, with learning and results to be shared publicly to help accelerate hydrogen technology and supply chain development in the UK.
We’re seeking results and outputs from demonstrations of innovative hydrogen technologies that are in progress or in the latter stages of planning that can be shared for the benefit of the UK hydrogen industry. Demonstrations must be TRL 5–7.
Focus areas
- Hydrogen production or carrier conversion
- Hydrogen as a feedstock for industrial processes
- Hydrogen propulsion, power & fuel systems
- Hydrogen storage
Enabling technologies within these focus areas will also be considered.
Eligibility
Organisations (industry, academia or consortia) that can evidence alignment to the focus areas, readiness to deliver and the impact of their demonstration. Demonstrations must be TRL 5–7, be carried out in the UK, and include a consortium of suitable partners.
