Alana Kruger

I work as the Country Lead for South Africa on the Innovate UK Global Alliance Africa project, where I design and oversee programmes that tackle social, environmental, and economic challenges — particularly within the Space Technology and Water and Waste sectors.

As one of the first African graduates in Innovation and Business Management, I’ve contributed to initiatives across a wide range of sectors including agriculture, education, mining, health, energy, and space technology. My work spans the development and implementation of investment funds, innovation roadmaps, entrepreneurial support programmes, and cross-border collaborations between government, academia, investors, and industry — all aimed at delivering climate-responsive solutions.

I’m deeply passionate about unlocking Africa’s full potential and believe Innovate UK Business Connect’s interventions play a pivotal role in advancing inclusive, sustainable socio-economic growth and environmental resilience in South Africa.
