Nicola Redelinghuys
Knowledge Transfer Manager – Global Alliance Africa, South Africa

I work as a Knowledge Transfer Manager with Global Alliance Africa (Innovate UK Business Connect), where I support the development of innovation networks, strengthen partnerships, and promote knowledge sharing between stakeholders in South Africa and the UK. My focus areas include water, waste, and collaboration through open innovation.
I hold a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering and have eight years of experience across the FMCG, biotech, and waste management sectors. My work has included process optimisation, project development, and supporting early-stage companies in refining their operations and scaling effectively.
Before joining Innovate UK Business Connect, I worked closely with several startups to shape their strategies, improve processes, and access funding opportunities. These experiences deepened my interest in how well-supported innovation can address complex environmental and social challenges.
I’m especially passionate about bridging the gap between emerging technologies and the systems that adopt them. Our current focus is on creating sustainable economies around waste and water. Please feel free to get in touch if you’d like to learn more or get involved.
