Sophie O'Callaghan

I am the Knowledge Transfer Adviser for Cornwall, Devon and Somerset, responsible for developing and managing a portfolio of successful Knowledge Transfer Partnerships (KTPs) between business and academia across the region. I also maintain relationships with a number of designated universities, supporting them to participate in KTP.

Prior to joining Innovate UK Business Connect I spent over 10 years working at the interface between businesses and universities, supporting academic and industry partners to collaborate on strategic business-led projects. This was predominantly through KTP, having previously led Exeter’s KTP office, but also across a broader range of activities including consultancy, contract research and collaborative R&D.

My background is in Environmental Science and Sustainability. Over the course of my career I have held various roles within businesses of all shapes and sizes, guiding and supporting them to reduce their environmental impact.
