Participants of the second Africa-UK AgriFood Pitch Competition voted project presentation ‘The East Africa Agri Growth Hub’ as the winning pitch!
Andrew Ritchie, Managing Director, Agri Frontier, presented his project pitch for ‘The East Africa Agri Growth Hub’ during the second week of the Africa-UK AgriFood Innovation Mission.
What is The East African Agri Growth Hub and how can it help?
Agri Frontier‘s East African Agri Growth Hub was the winning pitch at the Africa-UK AgriFood Innovation Mission 2020 (East Africa) as voted by delegates who attended the webinar. The virtual mission, brought by KTN and Innovate UK are the next stage in the delivery of the GCRF AgriFood Africa programme.
The Agri Growth Hub, to be based in Nairobi, consists of a co-working space, an accelerator program and grant funding support intended for the ‘missing middle’ SMEs in Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, Uganda and Malawi.
The hub will also provide:
- access to financing
- providing entrepreneurial and financial training
- technical agronomy training through our Kenyan partner Crop Nutrition Laboratory Services
- boosting SMEs value chain technical advisory (TA) and business development services (BDS) not only with profitability in mind, but with a focus on local economic growth, gender equality, governance and human rights.
- providing strategy and partnership connections to increase efficacy and sustainable growth
This is a Farm491 and Agri Frontier initiative.
