Global Regulation Index
The Global Regulation Index helps identify how countries are using regulation to encourage innovation.
What is the Global Regulation Index?
The GRI provides a ranking of 21 countries in terms of how well their approach to regulation supports innovation. It is comprised of 38 metrics spanning across four different innovation-led sectors. These metrics have been weighted according to the robustness of the data sources and their relevance to innovation-friendly regulation.
How can the GRI help?
The GRI aims to help policymakers and regulators navigate complexity of regulation. By showcasing best practices, we hope it will spark new ideas and initiatives to develop innovation-friendly regulation: a key tool for governments in enabling growth, prosperity and delivering socio-economic priorities such as Net Zero.
Our summary report not only presents the findings of the GRI but also includes a set of case studies featuring regulators from around the world.
