Background to Healthy Lives Community of Practice
The catalyst for the Community of Practice was the Healthy Ageing Challenge, which was a five-year programme focused on helping people stay active, independent, and socially connected for longer. It supported businesses and social enterprises to develop impactful products, services, and business models with the potential to scale, creating lasting impact across the UK. The Adding Life to Years report captures these achievements.

Being part of the Community of Practice has been a great benefit to myself and my project. The workshops have been informative, directly relevant to my project delivery and fostering the impact it can have, and also provided extra networking opportunities.
— Dr Tina Smith, Senior Lecturer in Biomechanics, University of Wolverhampton
The Community of Practice is an excellent example of an ongoing community which really does support and inform its members. I enjoy the Insights Hour, which makes me think about healthy ageing from a different perspective and the 'drop ins' are relevant to the Challenge. Best of all, I find the Monthly Newsletter so helpful - it keeps me current and aware of events and opportunities in the healthy ageing space – it is kind of like my own PA, reminding me to attend or apply for events and workshops. I recommend anyone involved in Longevity and Healthy Ageing to join the Community of Practice. It gives you all you need to know in easily digestible formats, providing relevant support whilst being respectful that everyone leads such busy lives.
