Advanced Manufacturing and Materials in Türkiye 2022
A group of seven UK delegates, all active in the UK Advanced Manufacturing industry, met with key stakeholders from both private and public sector organisations in Türkiye. The mission was held in three separate locations in Türkiye over five days. UK delegates started in the capital Ankara, moving on to Bursa, then spending three days at various locations in Istanbul. The GEM focused on how materials and manufacturing organisations can be more sustainable and resource-efficient, leading to increased resilience and/or technological advancement.

Advanced Materials in South Korea 2018
In March 2018, a UK delegation supported by British Embassy staff travelled to South Korea and met with government officials, academics and commercial entities. The UK’s Advanced Materials Mission gained exposure to nearly twenty advanced materialsrelated organisations and learnt about the relevant programmes supporting advanced materials research and development that could directly benefit collaboration, joint ventures and growth opportunities for organisations in the UK.

Advanced Therapies in Canada 2020
The Advanced Therapies Global Expert Mission travelled to Canada in March 2020 to better understand the innovation landscape in Canada and seek out synergies and opportunities for collaboration between the UK and Canada. Due to time constraints and the size of the country, the delegation was not able to visit all areas in five days and focused specifically on Toronto and Vancouver.

AI in Canada 2017
In October 2017, the Artificial Intelligent (AI) Expert Mission travelled to Toronto and Montréal. The UK delegation met with Canadian federal and provincial government officials, academics and commercial entities – gaining exposure to nearly forty AI related organisations and learning about more than 80 programmes that could directly benefit collaboration, joint ventures and innovation opportunities for AI organisations in the UK.

Antimicrobial Resistance in Germany 2019
In May 2019, an expert UK delegation travelled to Germany. The delegation met with German federal officials, academics and commercial entities from sixteen antimicrobial resistance (AMR) related organisations and learnt about many programmes that could directly benefit from collaboration and joint ventures with organisations involved in AMR in the UK.

In November 2023, an Innovate UK Global Expert Mission (GEM) visited C-CAMP, Bangalore Bioinnovation Centre and Rotary Club in Bangalore, India to engage with emerging and established biotech start-ups working at the forefront of AMR research. Meeting with stakeholders identified the innovation opportunity, challenges and the support mechanism to help start-ups thrive in a highly competitive field.
