The cutting-edge technology tackling cognitive and algorithmic bias in hiring
As one of the fastest-scaling DE&I startups in the country, MeVitae develops award-winning technology to enable HR and DE&I professionals to avoid cognitive or algorithmic bias.
Among their solutions is an anonymous recruiting tool, developed using Augmented Intelligence to produce large-scale document redactions in seconds. MeVitae’s innovation is the first of its kind, capable of producing real-time redactions and removing over 20 different parameters.
This means that groups which are common parameters for discrimination, such as gender, ethnicity or age, will no longer be victim to discrimination and unconscious bias.
With the help of the Innovate UK Inclusive Innovation Award, MeVitae will release a game-changing product to demonstrate different ways of tackling bias beyond basic training.
The team also aims to extend the solution to the sourcing pipeline. This will equip organisations with their own personalised diverse talent pool, enabling fairer screening decisions and increased DE&I. MeVitae hopes that this will help address skills shortages, which has direct implications for businesses’ economic performance.
This cutting-edge technology is currently being used in large global organisations to address key challenges including access to diverse talent when hiring, increasing opportunities for those who fit into discrimination parameters, and predicting future success.
“Algorithmic bias is one of the biggest threats organisations may face and this must be tackled as soon as possible,” says MeVitae founder, Riham Satti.
