Project Overview

The West Midlands Innovation Programme is a collaborative initiative designed to foster innovation and economic growth in the region.

Led by the West Midlands Combined Authority, the program aims to enhance the connectedness and operation of the region’s innovation ecosystem by supporting cross-sector, demand-led innovation.

Key Objectives

Key objectives of the West Midlands Innovation Programme include:

  • Addressing the Capability and Capacity strand of the West Midlands Innovation Accelerator.
  • Enhancing the connectedness and operation of the region’s innovation ecosystem.
  • Supporting cross-sector, demand-led innovation.
  • Working with partners to utilise a flexible innovation fund to pilot the development of multiple novel, collaborative interventions.
  • Enabling networking, good practice sharing, connections, and partnerships through sector-specific working groups and events.

The programme brings together a team of sector innovation experts under the banner of the Innovation Alliance for the West Midlands, providing a strong private sector voice and capacity to identify and address business innovation barriers and enablers.
