We are the UK regulator of medicines, medical devices and blood components for transfusion. We are responsible for making sure these products meet set standards for safety, quality and efficacy.

As the Science Campus of the MHRA we at South Mimms Site perform underpinning regulatory science across the range of biological medicines. We are a Designated Institute within the UK National Measurement System and the European Metrology Association (Euramet) for biological activity to the International Unit. We are the principal manufacturer and distributor of biological reference materials for the World Health Organisation (WHO) and so our expertise in the preparation of such usually lyophilised materials is unparalleled.

In previous projects of the Analysis for Innovators scheme we have been able to offer next generation sequencing, bioinformatics analysis, proteomics and mass spectrometry, NMR, biophysical characterisation and bioassays. We could also offer help with investigating formulation and freeze drying solutions.
