York’s one-stop shop to help people save money on heating
York is making it easier for people to improve their homes. Retrofit One-Stop-Shop York (ROSSY) helps residents plan, finance and install energy-saving upgrades with less hassle.
At its heart is YorEnergy, a digital platform offering tailored advice, trusted suppliers and flexible finance. It’s backed by demonstrator homes, community outreach and a supplier marketplace to make retrofit clearer and more accessible.
Led by City of York Council, with Brightsparks as the key delivery partner, the model is being developed for long-term use in partnership with the York and North Yorkshire Combined Authority.
ROSSY also supports local jobs and skills, aiming to grow a trusted, long-term market for home upgrades. The service is open to all but focused on those in cold, damp homes or at risk of fuel poverty.
