Emma Lawton is an experienced communicator and problem solver, first in her role as a Creative Director in a design agency and now as the Co-founder of More Human, a platform that uses machine learning to help bring people together in inclusive community events, groups and clubs, as part of Emma’s mission to address “the loneliness epidemic”.
“Our goal is to entirely eliminate the biggest barrier to organising something social – the fear that no one will show up,” says Emma. “Today, amateur organisers face a lack of audience data and tools to create high-quality events that resonate with their local audience.”
More Human uses advanced algorithms and data analysis to provide organisers with an understanding of the preferences and needs of potential attendees, creating complete ready-to-run events that are intelligently generated for their audience from scratch.
Emma’s interest in this area began to develop following a diagnosis of Parkinson’s disease in 2013. “From very early after my diagnosis, I realised that playing an active role in the patient community had a huge impact on my well-being. I believe that social connection is essential for wellbeing, and that community should be much more available and accessible to everyone, no matter your circumstances.”
