Overview

Innovate UK Global Alliance Africa is excited to introduce the launch of the UK-South Africa Water Security Global Innovation Network – a vibrant community dedicated to inspiring and connecting key stakeholders, industry and innovators across the water sector value chain.

This Network aims to foster active bilateral collaboration between the UK and South Africa by exploring emerging technologies and knowledge transfer solutions to address water challenges and promote sustainable water management practices.

As the water sector faces increasing challenges related to water scarcity, pollution, and climate change, the UK-South Africa Water Security Global Innovation Network will serve as a crucial hub for bringing together stakeholders, experts and innovators to tackle these pressing issues.

The Network will focus on four main focus areas, each addressing a unique challenge in the water sector:

• Innovative Technologies for Water Security
• Smart Solutions for Wastewater
• Data-Driven Water Management
• Empowering Women in the Water Sector

These focus areas will enhance UK-South Africa collaboration and partnerships, sharing policy and regulation, and promote the adoption of sustainable water management practices, ultimately leading to improved water security and resilience in both countries.

Why attend this event?

The objective of a launch event for the Network would be to:

• Introduce the Network: Provide an overview of the Network’s purpose, goals, and focus areas to stakeholders and potential participants.
• Generate Interest: Generate interest among key stakeholders, including water sector businesses, innovators, government agencies and NGOs to encourage active involvement in joining the Network.
• Showcase Innovations/Partnerships: Highlight innovative technologies, projects, and initiatives related to the Water Innovation Lead Customer Programme, demonstrating the potential impact of the Network and inspiring participants to get involved.
