Investment in digital pathology, radiology and AI - part of the ISCF challenge Data to Early Diagnosis & Precision Medicine

KTN, on behalf of UK Research & Innovation, will be holding a briefing event on 20th April in Manchester.

As part of the ISCF Wave 2 Challenge, Data to Early Diagnosis and Precision Medicine, and subject to formal sign off, UK Research & Innovation will be investing up to £50 million in the creation of centres of excellence in digital pathology and/or in-vivo imaging (including radiology and other imaging techniques). They envisage funding 5 centres across the UK, and are asking the centres to make better use of artificial intelligence and machine learning, in delivering services and maximising the use of digital images. Each centre will need to run at least one significant exemplar project to demonstrate the utility of the infrastructure that has been funded.

Applications are expected to leverage significant funding from industry in line with the Industrial Strategy Life Sciences Sector Deal.
