Basil Malaki
Knowledge Transfer Manager - Global Alliance Africa, Kenya
I support the implementation of Global Alliance Africa interventions in Kenya. These interventions include, but are not limited to, building Global Innovation Networks, Place-Based Innovation, Collaborative Research and Development, Strengthening the Investment Pipeline and Open Innovation.
I have progressively worked in the development sector in Africa for over eight years, agnostically supporting sustainable innovation and entrepreneurship projects. I am an active member of Afrilabs, and former Executive Secretary of the Association of Start-up and SMEs Enablers of Kenya (ASSEK).
I have served multiple impact-driven and sustainable interventions providing strategic communication, process management, and business incubation expertise.
My sector experience includes supporting GIZ as a Business Development Advisor of the Agri-Jobs 4 Youth initiative. I was Incubation Manager at TechBridge Invest Africa, leading a community of start-ups, knowledge partners and investors. I also served as the Communication and Outreach lead at the Energy Change Lab, a renewable energy programme of Hivos & International Institute for Environment and Development (IIED).
Please get in touch if you’d like to talk about change, job creation, grassroots innovations and strengthening system collaborations.
