Bhavya Srinivasan
Knowledge Transfer Manager - Place Based Innovation, Global Alliance Africa
As the Place-Based Innovation (PBI) Intervention Lead for Global Alliance Africa, I work across the three focus contexts to support with the design, delivery and learning of the intervention.
I work with in-country colleagues on delivering the Place-Based Initiatives in Ekiti State (Nigeria), Eldoret (Kenya) and Gauteng (South Africa). This involves delivering against locally developed Innovation Action Plans that address ecosystem level challenges and barriers to innovation – focusing specifically on capacity, collaboration and market access.
I have previously worked in the development and humanitarian sectors and have varied experience ranging from finance and operations, grant and donor management, impact evaluations and more recently, systems change and innovation. I worked with JPAL South Asia, a network of academics brought together in their ambition to influence evidence based policy making to alleviate poverty, for over five years growing their India operations, while also being a Research Manager on an evaluation. I then went on to do some consulting focusing on monitoring and evaluation before joining the Start Network, where I ran a network of community innovation labs. This resulted in the role of Head of the Network Development team, delivering the vision of a locally-led, distributed network of networks.
I am passionate about systems change and a supporter of locally-led networks and initiatives. I am a thoughtful, principled and reflective advocate for change and believe in the power of collaboration and networks to address complexity.
